Sustainable House Day is on Sunday September 16th. There are five houses close to Launceston to visit!
- Two in Westbury, one a super insulated new build, and one a sustainable renovation. One open 10 am to 4 pm the other 10 am to 2 pm.
- One in Greens Beach, Possibly the world’s first actual zero-emission house. 100% off-grid, 100% electric, no wood fire or gas for heating & cooking, and no backup generator. Open 10 am to 4 pm.
- One in Sheffield, a self-performing passive house that is comfortable for living, blends into the environment in terms of material use and architecture, is simple to build without needing machinery, pleasing and timeless to the eye, and contains the least embodied energy. Open 10 am to 1 pm.
- One in Devenport, an 8.1 Star-rated passive solar home. Open 10 am to 4 pm.
