An opportunity exists for a Program Coordinator to join Tamar NRM in its delivery of their sustainable agricultural, living and environmental strategy. This is a position with considerable autonomy that has the scope to initiate and follow through with projects and activities that make an impact and difference to the Tamar region.

Tamar NRM is an incorporated association, funded predominantly by three Councils; City of Launceston, West Tamar and George Town. In addition, grant funding is sought from a variety of sources to further improve the number of projects and enhance project impact. With increased funding there can be an opportunity to work up to full-time hours if the individual wishes to and the organisation agrees.

Tamar NRM has enjoyed a long history of success, first commencing in 1998. It is governed by a management committee of 10 members. A subcommittee ‘Executive Committee’ of the Management Committee then work with the President to support the Program Coordinators run the organisation.

Applicants that are experienced in NRM activities from both a field operations and a strategic input and realisation level are sought for this role. People who are skilled in project management, grant application and acquittal and who are sound communicators both on an individual and wider audience scale are encouraged to apply.

All candidates must have a sound knowledge and appreciation for the broader range of NRM issues and opportunities in Tasmania, have establish networks with other or an ability to establish them, locally and nationally together with a history of relevant work experience in the natural resources field. Qualifications in environmental science or a related field will be highly regarded.
