The Tasmanian Youth Climate Leaders Conference is back for 2020! The Tasmanian Youth Climate Leaders’ Conference in 2018 and 2019 brought together over 600 students across the state, with support from over 70 skilled and experienced mentors. In 2020 the conference is set to replicate previous year’s impact and the call for registrations is now on!
Schools (years 6-12) from across the state are invited to register for this year’s conference in Hobart, Launceston or Burnie. The conference will be held over two days, the first day in March and second day in September across all three locations.
Students throughout the first day will be equipped with new skills and empowerment to work with mentors in developing an on-ground project to address climate change in their schools and communities. The second day n September, the Celebration Conference, will involve students presenting on their projects supported by TV sensation Costa Georgiadis.
- Students empowered to learn and act through their own leadership;
- Teachers connecting with other teachers from surrounding schools with access to valuable resources and working together with curriculum leaders during the conference program;
- Hear from informed speakers and be supported by empowering mentors. Note: There is no charge to schools to attend this conference.
